Affiliated Company KWL

In 2010, P&P founded the subsidiary company Kraftwerk Lasberg GmbH (KWL), www.kwl.co.at, who purchased the small hydropower plant of the same name located in the Upper Austria Region.

The plant was built in 1923, more than 100 years ago, and P&P had already developed for the previous owner a rehabilitation and efficiency improvement concept and managed to obtain all necessary permits. This resulted in an annual power generation increase of more than 30%. In the following years, further efficiency improvement measures were gradually developed by P&P and implemented.

Operating the plant since 2010 and continuously improving plant efficiency has yielded valuable hands-on experience for the P&P hydropower experts in power plant maintenance, automation, and remote-controlled operation. This know-how is directly applied to ongoing hydropower designs at P&P.

In 2025, the ownership of KWL was divested whereby Fritz Schwaiger remains the majority shareholder of KWL and through this, P&P experts still benefit from operation experience and provide innovation support.
